I was asked to create a mood board for a short animation from our trip to the V&A and our Prospal. This first task introduced us to mood boards and how they can help create an overall theme with animation, games and over-artist areas.
I created this above moldboard showing the medical blacksmith’s different materials, houses, and colours. I found this interesting to work with and tried to find a border view of a specific concept.
Create a cultural timeline and mood board
We could choose any topic for this task, and I chose my love of coffee!
Read more: Moodboards and culture timelineFrom what I learned from the first task, I created a more refined mood board, which included a colour script. I pulled from new and old, including the original espresso machine, the first Starbucks, to the new way of brewing at home, coffee pods.
We were also asked to create a cultural timeline of this topic; I did make the mistake of choosing a broad topic, but I kept it to the significant events of this trade from its origins to its current domination.
I found this very interesting to make from an artistic view, especially as I never thought to make an infographic; I found line art very visually interesting. I found the history of coffee impressive, from how long it rains, to the cultural impacts made in different countries. For example, George the 2nd nearly banned coffee houses for fear of them being a meeting place for revolutionists. The Boston tea party regarded coffee as a patriot attack against Britain.
